A delegation of GCCA Brasil members travelled to Buenos Aires, September 3-4, 2018, for a tour of temperature-controlled facilities. The delegation included representatives from CAP - Logistica Frigorificada, Confiance Log Armazenagem e Distribuição, Friozem Armazens Frigorificos, Log Park Armazens Gerais, and SuperFrio Armazéns Gerais, and was sponsored by Mayekawa Brasil.
On the first day, the group visited Axionlog, Frio Dock, Frigorifico Oneto y Cia, experiencing a large variety in the size and operation of facilities.
On September 4, the group toured a Carrefour distribution center with an up-close look at their cascade system, discussed in detail by a representative from Mayekawa Brasil. The trip ended with a final tour at Grupo Surfrigo following by a traditional Argentinian meal hosted by the facility. The Study Tour facilitated the exchange of ideas and discussion of challenges in the industry in Brasil and Argentina.
The visits provided participants with networking and learning opportunities, as well as a broader perspective on the public refrigerated warehousing landscape in Latin America as a whole.
